Platform update: Industries

Debitum Network 1.0 Abra receives a new feature – Industries.
Industries attribute was added to each asset. Industries attribute also will be visible in Asset list. This attribute will allow Investors to perform more precise analysis, search of attractive assets. It will also improve filtering functionality, statistics numbers, and assets grouping possibilities.

Current list of Industry definitions is not a final one. We are starting with 16 possible industry names. We believe that this list will be handy for Investors to use and will cover major if not all activities of Borrowers. You can have a look at full industries list here:

1 Production Production converts inputs or intermediates to a final output or services, which may or may not use machinery.
2 Manufacturing Manufacturing is the process of transforming raw materials into finished goods, by deploying various sequential processes, labour, and machinery.
3 Services (tertiary) Service industries (More formally termed: ‘tertiary sector of industry’ by economists) involve the provision of services to businesses as well as final consumers. Such services include accounting, tradesmanship (like mechanic or plumber services), computer services, restaurants, tourism, all professional services such as engineering, computer software development, and medicine, non-profit economic activity, all consumer services, and all government services, including defense and administration of justice.

Hence, a service Industry is one where no goods are produced.

4 Distribution Distribution industry businesses purchase and resell goods, such as the output of agriculture, mining, or manufacturing, generally without making any substantial changes to the goods. Some of the purchasers of the goods are retailers or other wholesalers.
5 Wholesale Sale of goods or merchandise to retailers; to industrial, commercial, institutional, or other professional business users; or to other wholesalers and related subordinated services. In general, it is the sale of goods to anyone other than a standard consumer.
6 Retail Retail industry consists of companies selling consumer goods or services to customers through multiple channels of distribution. It cloud be greengrocers, contemporary art galleries, bookstores, handicrafts, musical instruments, gift shops.
7 Financial Range of businesses that manage money, including credit unions, banks, credit-card companies, insurance companies, accountancy companies, consumer-finance companies, stock brokerages, investment funds, individual managers and some government-sponsored enterprises.
8 Construction In general, there are three sectors of construction: buildings (residential and non-residential), infrastructure (bridges, highways, railways, water or wastewater and utility distribution) and Industrial (refineries, process chemical, power generation, mills and manufacturing plants).
9 Real estate Real estate sector focuses on the buying and selling of properties: residential, commercial and industrial real estate.
10 Mining Mining is the extraction of valuable minerals or other geological materials from the earth, usually from an orebody, lode, vein, seam, reef or placer deposit.
11 Automotive The automotive industry is a wide range of companies and organizations involved in the design, development, manufacturing, marketing, and selling of motor vehicles. The automotive industry does not include industries dedicated to the maintenance of automobiles following delivery to the end-user, such as automobile repair shops and motor fuel filling stations.
12 Logistics Logistics industry includes not only the transportation and delivery of goods but also the storage, handling, inventory, packaging, the process of planning, implementing and controlling procedures for the efficient and effective transportation and storage of goods.
13 Pharmaceutical The pharmaceutical industry (or medicine industry) is the commercial industry that discovers, develops, produces, and markets drugs or pharmaceutical drugs for use as different types of medicine and medications.
14 Healthcare Industry provide medical services, manufacture medical equipment, and develop pharmaceuticals (despite that, the development of pharmaceuticals is a separate industry). The industry also provides medical insurance to clients. It includes the generation and commercialization of goods and services lending themselves to maintaining and re-establishing health.
15 ITT (ICT) industry ICT industry includes information technology (IT), unified communications and telecommunications (telephone lines and wireless signals), audio-visual, telephone networks, computer networks, computers as well as necessary enterprise software, middleware, storage, and audio-visual systems, which enable users to access, store, transmit, and manipulate information.
16 Forestry Forestry industry includes businesses carrying out forestry gathering, growing activities and logging activities (including logging, hewing, shaping, cutting or felling).
